Pyott is an avid tester of Myles’s machines. He particularly likes the flying machines. Thus, Myles is often trying to perfect the personal flying apparatus for him. This is a mix of rocket pack and the winged glider to steering.

C.O.G. Chronicles Wallpaper
Alright, for the few of you already watching this blog, here is a wallpaper design featuring the inks I did of the initial cast. It has been jazzed up with a parchment texture and the names and titles of each characters. This size is intended for a 27″ large format iMac. If you have a smaller screen, feel free to shrink it at you discretion. Like on the image to download.
Myles’s Glasses
Here is a quick study of Myles’s glasses or spectacles. They have a variety of moving parts and can fold into themselves for easy storage.
The “sunglasses” disks can move to the inside of the side frames when not needed or swung behind the spectacle portion. The spectacle glass has a hinge on the bottom that makes them swing forward so as to be moved out of the way when needed. Myles is near-sighted, which means he has a problem seeing objects far away but can see things perfectly when close. Since he uses the magnifying attachment on the glasses when working on his inventions, he just swings the spectacle glass down out of his way when he uses them instead of getting a completely new set of glasses to do the job. When Myles wishes to stow the glasses away, the hinge in the center arch swings inward until the sun & spectacle glass lay next to each other and then the ear stems fold in and over until all the parts make a small easily compact shape that he can put in his coat pocket.
I know, complicated. Usually I will have more complete schematics of items, but this image make perfect sense to me so I don’t think it will be likely in this case.
Preliminary Character Designs 7 – Underworld Villains
This post features the Underworld Villains. These are the mercenary types, where coin is the only true agenda. So good or bad can be relative. Madam long, however, is the queen of the underworld and she’s all bad, all the time, lol. This groups came about by the huge opium trade going on at the time in England. I didn’t want to ignore such a rich possibility for villains and anti-heroes. In fact, I can promise you that there is one anti-hero listed here today!
Preliminary Character Designs 6 – Tech Villains
This one features the tech villains in the C.O.G. Chronicles. ALL of these characters will appear in some capacity or another in the story. Some are more evil than others, some having the potential for good in the future more than others, some more active than others, some there to make an appearance but will used more actively for another day. So “villain” is, potentially, a very loose term here.
It is in this set of Villains that you see more the “Thomas Edison” side of the story. I also add in a little of Moriarty & Bond Villains to the mix. When I started this project I made a list featuring all the things I thought were interesting and incredible about the Victorian era. After this was complete I began trying to put a little of each and every one of them into this story, lol. It is a Herculean feat thus far, but I feel well worth it.
Preliminary Character Designs 1 – Main Cast
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Welcome back to C.O.G. Chronicles! Today we begin to display the initial designs for our Sequential Serial (or more mundanely known as a comic book graphic novel). Today the Chronicler would like to share her preliminary designs for the main cast of this tale. She calls these “color studies” and will be used as an initial guide for their designs. These are subject to change, as it’s early days yet; but it will give you an idea on initial look and names of the main cast.
