Myles Ballantyne – Design Pin-Up

Myles Ballantyne is the youngest of 5 children and the only son. He didn’t speak until he was 10 years old, and was considered mentally deficient through most of his early childhood. By the time he was 12, he had invented what would be the initial designs for the airships his company is now famous for. Now, at 19, Myles and his brother-in-law Dr. Cavendish own and run Empyrean Industries, the leading transportation vehicles manufacturers. Myles lives in a world that is catered to his inventing whims and protects him from the hostile forces that are constantly trying to kill him. He’s already considered a national treasure and is perhaps the richest eligible bachelor in the empire. That being said, he is extremely socially awkward and is prone to saying rather blunt, and accurate, things that many may construed as insulting. He would rather be left alone with his work, but for some reason his family feel he needs to socialize and (his sister hopes) marry someday.

Myles is my most complicated character and the one with the most details not only in his design but in personality. He is nearsighted (which means he has no problem seeing things up-close but has a problem with things far away) and he almost definitely has a very mild case of asbergers syndrome. Thus, He doesn’t talk often and has a hard time relating to the social system where bloodline trumps intelligence. However, his world is turned upside-down when Delyth Gwynne is thrust into it.

Preliminary Character Designs 6 – Tech Villains

This one features the tech villains in the C.O.G. Chronicles. ALL of these characters will appear in some capacity or another in the story. Some are more evil than others, some having the potential for good in the future more than others, some more active than others, some there to make an appearance but will used more actively for another day. So “villain” is, potentially, a very loose term here.

It is in this set of Villains that you see more the “Thomas Edison” side of the story. I also add in a little of Moriarty & Bond Villains to the mix. When I started this project I made a list featuring all the things I thought were interesting and incredible about the Victorian era. After this was complete I began trying to put a little of each and every one of them into this story, lol. It is a Herculean feat thus far, but I feel well worth it.
