I had to walk a very fin line with the dress, as dresses at the time would probably be considered gaudy monstrosities today. I decided ultimately to be more accurate and went for all the details. Usually when I see victorian comics artist skimp on dress details. I wanted to highlight them. Myles’s formal kilt was easier but I’m still in the process of creating my own tartan for him.
